MultiSystems, Inc. have designed an automated data collection system to optimize the control over the chemical process during product manufacturing.  The objective of this system is to implement a computerized system in the chemical weighing area to simplify the process and assure a correct documentation. The Computerized Scale / Bar Code System (CSBCS) consist of chemical weighing scales, data collection terminals with laser guns and bar code printers interconnected with a PC Data Collection Server.

The complete system will assure a more consistent process, correct amounts and the corresponding label generation. This will result in a simplification and acceleration of the weighing operation and documentation, adding more security and reliability, reducing the number of operators needed per station and eliminating human errors.  A bar code system will keep track of the weighed material information. The system will reduce to perform the procedure.

Two different applications will be involved on CSBCS. Both will access the same database but each one will use it differently. The administrator interface is a Windows compatible, friendly-user system that will permit users to access and modify the system database, and print reports from it. The other application will guide floor operators on their daily duties. 

Easiness of operation will be granted by providing the operator with easy to follow instructions to perform the daily weighing procedures. In addition, a Windows 32 application will allow creating users, entering transactions and printing a reconciliation report.
